About Leonore

I have been giving one-to-one lessons to pre-school children, school children, university students, business people and retired people from all five continents for more than three decades and I always preferred giving one-to-one classes because the student benefits so much more. This way I can tailor the lessons to the student's pace and I can fully concentrate on supporting this one student. I grew up with English and German and went to a private academy for interpreting and translating. I am very well versed with the grammar of both languages - English and German.

Many of my students prepare for the Goethe-Zertifikat with me and I am very proud that 99% of my students who took their exam at the Goethe-Institut ( all levels:A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2) passed with "sehr gut" outstanding results.

About the lesson

My approach to teaching is that I work with a mixture of written material such as books and my own exercises which I tailor and design according to the students individual needs. All the books and printed material I am working with are in accordance with the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference For Languages) as well as the learning material that I prepare for you. During my lessons I focus on a student centered teaching style and I am emphasizing all four abilities "speaking", "listening", "reading" and "writing" during my lessons.

You are looking for a structured and positively spirited approach to language learning? I can assure you we would make a good team. In case you are resuming lessons I can help you to brush up on your German on all levels from A1 through C2 as well as Business German.

Another subject I specialize in is DSH Training (Deutsche Sprache für den Hochschulzugang), as well as giving support and helping students of all ages, whose first language is not German, when editing their dissertation, master thesis or bachelor thesis concerning the linguistic aspects of their works.

I am also experienced in teaching people with ADHD as well as dyslexia (adults and children).
