"Sometimes I admit that I get just as excited about a perfectly executed cadence as my students do. Having spent 8 years of experience at the piano, I treat the instrument as a vital partner to my vocal coaching work. My BFA Musical Theater degree provided the foundation, but my daily studio life taught me how to break down complex theory for working professionals. I have guided 323 students through the nuance of pedaling technique and sight playing with a focus on sustainable artistry.
It is deeply rewarding to watch performance focused learners grasp the mechanics behind beautiful music. "Rhythm is often the hardest part to master when you are sitting alone at the keyboard. Most people struggle with timing because they never learned how to feel the pulse inside the music. I start our work with a diagnostic playing assessment before we set a learning plan together.
This ensures we do not waste a single moment on skills you have already mastered. We will look at your ABRSM or Trinity exam prep and fix those persistent technical glitches in your sight playing. My 8 years of experience have shown me that chord voicing changes the entire character of a performance. You will learn to use your feet with purpose rather than just guessing where the pedal goes.
