About Donald
Grade exam candidates comprise a large portion of my current studio. Teaching 131 students has provided me with a clear understanding of how voices develop over time. I focus on technical areas like diction, articulation, and mastering the shift between head and chest voice. Resonant tone production requires consistent warm-up exercises and a steady flow of air.
Intermediate learners often struggle with vibrato control until we address their breath support. I enjoy working with kids who are just starting to find their range. My background as a singer-guitarist ensures that rhythm and phrasing remain central to every vocal drill.
Belting technique is another area where I provide specific, hands-on guidance. Performance confidence increases when you understand your own anatomy.

Personalization begins with a diagnostic vocal assessment for every new student to map out your unique strengths. You deserve a clear path forward that identifies exactly where your resonance needs adjustment before we move into complex repertoire. Microphone technique is integrated early because hearing your own voice through a monitor changes your perception of pitch and dynamics. I draw on 13 years of gigging across the American South to show you how to manage a crowd with just your voice.
We work through sight singing and advanced phrasing to ensure you understand the architecture of every melody. My approach emphasizes healthy habits that protect your cords while you expand your stylistic range. I have spent a lifetime singing in small venues and I enjoy sharing those lessons with you.
