About Brittany

I am trained in the science of how people learn and how their brain operates with a special focus for children and adults with ADD and ADHD. I believe the single most powerful step toward thriving adults and children is understanding and reinforcing Executive Functions (EFs). These critical skills determine how we manage our lives navigating tough situations, starting daunting tasks, and building strong relationships. I aim to shift the narrative from struggle and shame to empowerment, giving every adult and child the self-understanding and strategies to thrive. Over 12 years at NC State's College of Education focused on this vision. I developed courses on Learning Differences and Learner Agency for educators and students that reached over 40,000 individuals worldwide. I have a deep, research-backed understanding of neuroscience and executive function challenges. This is complemented by my own experience as a late-diagnosed woman with ADHD, I offer profound empathy and practical, actionable, personalized strategies to help each adult or student thrive.

About the lesson

I have a background in English Education, experience with STEM topics including coding. My specialization is in integrating diverse content while developing executive function skills and organizational systems. While most tutoring addresses a specific subject, I focus on creating systemic change for the student. The goal is to equip them with the metacognitive tools to eventually become their own best coach.

I don't just teach what to study; I teach how to study, organize, and plan to support success outside of our tutoring. I constantly ask students how they are learning to push them to understand their own minds and take ownership of their learning process.

I leverage my expertise in online learning technologies to utilize various virtual tools to maintain engagement and provide the necessary visual and organizational supports.

I have worked with and coached students and adults with ADD and ADHD of all ages 5+ in developing deeper self-understanding, personalized strategies for support executive function struggles not just in academic subjects, but in life far after the end of coaching.
