About Ingrid
I'm a 22-year old Norwegian living in Boston and I'm currently in my 4th year at Berklee College of Music. Voice is my main instrument, but I also play piano and guitar and my major is performance and songwriting. I sing and play in different genres, but my original music is a mixture of jazz and singer/songwriter.
My musical experience include 12 years in classical choir, rhythmic vocal groups, solo gigs, musicals and jazz concerts with various musicians. I have sung with big bands and orchestras around Norway, and the last couple of years I've also had gigs in Boston and New York. I've taught kids and teenagers, and have a lot of respect and patience for the journey of learning. Good things take time!
At Berklee I have worked with people like Paula Gallitano (songwriter and producer for Lalah Hathaway, Tina Turner), Jeff Ramsey (background vocalist for Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, Barbra Streisand), Larry Klein (Joni Mitchell, Herbie Hancock, Bob Dylan) Becca Stevens and Peter Eldrige. The techniques I use for songwriting are largely based on what I have learned from Pat Pattison - who has worked 50 years in the industry and taught artists such as John Mayer, Gillian Welch and Ashe.
For a long time I was afraid to write songs, and did not quite know where to start. But it does not have to be this overwhelming, romanticized bubble of scented candles and waiting for inspiration to strike - fortunately there are techniques that make it all a little more tangible, and I would like to share them with you.
So I offer lessons in singing, piano and songwriting - depending on what you want to learn more about. Can't wait to get to know you!
Ps.
I have also lived 6 months in Paris and gotten to know the music scene there. So please shout if anyone wants to teach me better French! :-)

My teaching methods are adapted to each individual student and what they want. All ages and levels are welcome! I can give you singing lessons in various rhythmic genres with a focus on technique and expression, methods for self-accompaniment on piano and teaching songwriting with writing techniques developed at Berklee. Bring a song/songs you want to work on, either covers or self-written - and we'll take it from there!
