About Amari

Amari Alexander is a vocalist, songwriter, and producer originally from Rocky Mount, North Carolina. Born into a family of gospel singers and musicians, Amari has always been surrounded by music, and his love and passion for music began at a very early age. He began his musical journey in church, where he received his initial musical training and experience. His love of music led him to attend and graduate from Berklee College of Music with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance. While at Berklee, Amari continued developing his skills as a vocalist, songwriter, producer, and live performer while creating original music and discovering his authentic voice as an artist. As an R&B/Soul recording and performing artist, Amari brings both formal musical training and more than 15 years of hands-on experience to his teaching. His experience as a performer and recording artist gives him a unique perspective on vocal technique, musicality, artistry, and preparing for live performances.

Amari is passionate about helping students of all ages and skill levels develop their voices, build confidence, and reach their individual musical goals. Whether you're just beginning your singing journey, looking to strengthen your vocal technique, preparing for an audition or performance, or developing your artistry, Amari is excited to share the knowledge and experience he has gained throughout his musical journey.

About the lesson

I am excited to offer personalized one-on-one vocal lessons for students of all ages and experience levels. Whether you’re preparing for an audition or performance, pursuing music professionally, or simply singing for fun, I tailor each lesson to your individual goals, needs, and learning style.

Lessons may focus on healthy vocal technique, breath support, pitch and vocal control, tone and resonance, ear training, repertoire development, and performance preparation. I also place a strong emphasis on helping students build confidence and become more comfortable, expressive, and authentic when they sing.

Most importantly, I want my students to feel empowered to discover and develop their own unique voice and style. My goal is to help you build the skills, confidence, and self-expression you need to become a stronger singer while truly enjoying the process.

I offer a free 30-minute Zoom consultation to discuss any questions you may have and what lessons would consist of, and my rate for an hour-long lesson is $50.
