About Leia

With over 10 years of dedicated piano performance experience, I bring conservatory-level training, a proven teaching method, and a passion for helping students achieve their musical goals. My lessons are structured, engaging, and tailored to each student’s needs — whether you’re preparing for graded exams, competing on stage, or simply playing for personal enjoyment. I pride myself on clear communication, punctuality, and a supportive learning environment that enables students to progress with confidence. Each session is carefully designed to develop solid technique, deepen musical understanding, and foster expressive, confident playing. Students can expect professional-quality instruction, personalized feedback, measurable progress, and the encouragement needed to succeed. Whether you are a beginner starting your first notes or an advanced pianist refining your artistry, my commitment is to guide you every step of the way with expertise, patience, and enthusiasm.

About the lesson

My Approach as a Piano Tutor --
I combine solid classical technique with a flexible, student-centered approach that keeps learning engaging. My goal is to help students not just play the piano, but truly understand music — building skills that allow them to perform with confidence and expression.
Teaching Method & Techniques
Foundation First: Emphasis on posture, hand position, and efficient fingering to prevent bad habits.
Layered Learning: Start with rhythm and note reading, then add dynamics, phrasing, and pedal work.
Ear Training & Theory: Integrated into lessons so students can connect what they play to how music works.
Repertoire Variety: Classical, contemporary, and student-requested pieces to keep motivation high.
Step-by-Step Mastery: Break down complex passages into manageable practice segments.
Typical Lesson Plan (45–60 minutes)
Warm-Up (5–10 min) – Technical exercises, scales, arpeggios, or Hanon patterns.
Review & Feedback (10–15 min) – Go over previous assignments, highlight progress, and refine details.
New Material (15–20 min) – Introduce a new piece or section, work on sight-reading and interpretation.
Music Theory & Ear Work (5–10 min) – Short, integrated activities to improve overall musicianship.
Wrap-Up & Goals (5 min) – Assign specific practice strategies and clear goals for the week.
What Sets Me Apart
Conservatory training with years of performance and teaching experience.
Ability to teach in both structured, exam-focused formats (ABRSM, RCM) or creative, flexible learning styles.
Patient, encouraging teaching style that adapts to different learning paces.
Strong focus on expression and musicality, not just correct notes.
Who My Lessons Are For
Beginners: Build a solid foundation from day one.
Intermediate Players: Strengthen technique, expand repertoire, and deepen musical understanding.
