About Gowtham

I've always been a passionate designer. As a full-time designer and freelance illustrator, I've accomplished significant milestones in my field. Over the years, I've mentored 200+ students, won national and international contests, and collaborated with 500+ clients across illustration, branding, and marketing. About the lesson

Course Overview:
This course is designed for beginners of all ages, covering the fundamentals of art and gradually transitioning into digital illustration.
Students will start with traditional drawing techniques and later explore digital tools like Procreate or Adobe Photoshop.

Modules & Topics Covered

1. Traditional Art Foundations (Can be done on paper or digital)

Warm-up Exercises: Arm movement drills for better control
Line & Shape Basics: Understanding and practicing different types of lines, shapes, and forms
Values & Shading Techniques: Hatching, cross-hatching, stippling, smudging
Understanding Shapes & Proportions: Drawing with basic shapes, grid method, freehand sketching
Cartoon Illustration: Simplifying characters and exaggerating expressions

2. Introduction to Digital Art (Procreate / Adobe Photoshop Required)

Digital Tools & UI Overview: Brushes, selection tools, color palettes
Concept of Layers: Layer types, blending modes, layer masks
Coloring & Blending Techniques: Soft shading, gradients, texture application
Rendering Realism: Understanding lighting, shadows, and materials (metal, fabric, skin, etc.)

Course Outcome:

By the end of the course, students will have a strong grasp of fundamental drawing techniques and be able to create professional-quality digital artworks.

Additional Notes:

Traditional foundation lessons can be practiced on paper before transitioning to digital tools.
Specialized digital art techniques will require Adobe Photoshop or Procreate.
