About AlexQ
Although I learned visual art in my schooling, I was equally attracted to music and had a few lessons but learned mostly on my own. Started playing at 17 years old, played in my first band at 18. Love teaching and especially love teaching players that already have basics down and want to improve their ability and knowledge. I'm 68 and still play in a working band. The only thing I insist on is that the student does the work and actually practices, a minimum of 20 minutes a day to start. I'm very patient but not with students that don't practice.

I teach how to play without learning to read music. I use different exercises and techniques depending on your ability. I show you basics of music theory that complement your level. I teach how to integrate chords and scales, how to play inversions (same chord with different fingerings), how to target chord tones (the notes that make up a chord, how to use the melody of a song in your playing, how to play rhythm guitar, how to play with others, etc. In addition you'll learn how to set up your electric guitar, how to get a good sound on your amplifier and so on.
