About Simon
My first memories of beekeeping are of watching my father tend to his hives—calm, focused, and entirely in tune with the bees. That early fascination stayed with me and has grown into a deep passion for these extraordinarily clever creatures. Today, I’m a proud member of the British Beekeepers Association (BBKA) and BIBBA (Bee Improvement and Bee Breeders Association), with hands-on experience with multiple apiaries that I look after. I’ve spent years learning the rhythms of the hive—how to care for colonies through the seasons, support healthy genetics, and harvest honey sustainably. Beekeeping, for me, is more than a hobby—it's a way of connecting with nature, understanding ecosystems, and contributing to biodiversity. I offer friendly, practical guidance for anyone interested in starting their own beekeeping journey. From online advice on what to buy and how to begin, to in-person hive inspections, honey harvesting, hive building, and even supplying bees—I’m here to help you every step of the way. Though I’m also a professional photographer and university lecturer, it’s in the quiet hum of a thriving colony that I find some of my greatest inspiration. At least you know you will have some great photos of you tending to the beehives in your bee suit!
