About Amy
I am a 25-year-old Life Sciences educator who graduated with distinction, achieving the second-highest result in my university class. My academic journey shaped my belief that Life Sciences is not meant to be confusing or overwhelming. With the right guidance and explanation, it can be clear, logical, and even enjoyable. I have made it my mission to help learners succeed and to support them in becoming the best versions of themselves academically. I focus on simplifying complex concepts, strengthening understanding, and building confidence so that learners do not just memorize content but truly understand it. Life Sciences shouldn’t feel difficult — and I am here to make it easier for you.

I am a dedicated and passionate Life Sciences teacher with extensive experience teaching Grades 10–12, specialising in CAPS-aligned content and exam preparation. I believe Life Sciences should be logical, visual, and engaging—not something learners simply memorise. My teaching approach focuses on breaking down complex biological concepts into clear, understandable sections while constantly linking theory to real-life examples and exam-style questions.
I have strong experience in setting high-quality assessments, creating detailed summaries, and preparing learners for tests and exams using DBE and provincial formats. I place a strong emphasis on understanding key terminology, interpreting diagrams, and mastering answering techniques that help learners maximise marks. My lessons are structured, supportive, and adapted to each learner’s pace and needs.
As an educator, I am patient, encouraging, and results-driven. I aim not only to improve marks but to build learners’ confidence and scientific thinking skills. Whether a learner needs content support, exam technique guidance, or structured revision, I am committed to helping them succeed in Life Sciences.

I highly recommend her.Miss Amy has a passion for biology as I am a former student. Not only is she vibrant and active in the classroom but she really has a soft spot for children in the biology class. Being very enthusiastic and kind in her job she serves as a predominant factor in changing our lives of seeing biology as just a subject to real life challenges. Learning more about biology through Miss Amy is the best thing that I have ever done.
She is very reliable and doesn’t rush the learners. She understands the pace in which every individual learner works in. Mrs Holmes took me from the 30s and 40s up to 70s and above. I went from hating life science to it being my favourite subject so if you ask me,I think any learner would be lucky to have her as the tutor
