About Christopher

Hi, my name is Christopher Quinn. I'm a bass player and freelance musician. For the past few years I've been working with several projects all over the UK. I graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in jazz with honours of the first class in 2024. I was also a recipient of the Alan McAuley jazz award for career development upon finishing my studies. Since then, I've become one of the most in-demand musicians in Glasgow, where I'm based.

I've worked as a sideman - recording and performing - in several projects of varying styles, including: Jazz, Rock, Punk, Indie, Metal, Funk, Bluegrass, Folk, Hip-Hop, Pop, Soul, Jungle, DnB and more.

About the lesson

I believe the best way to learn music is to enjoy your practice! I don't think it should be a chore to practice, more like a form of meditation. I tailor lessons around the student and their needs. That way, the student gets what suits them best as an individual, rather than forcing the same template on everyone.

All age ranges and ability levels are welcome. I'm certified by Disclosure Scotland's PVG (protection of vulnerable groups) Scheme. I teach out of my lovely flat in the Southside of Glasgow, in my rehearsal/studio space 15 minutes walk from Glasgow Central, or alternatively I can do Zoom lessons. Whatever is convenient for you!

Chris is maybe my favorite bass player to play with in Glasgow! Forever inspiring and someone that is versatile in jazz, and also a solid groove player. He has some of the fattest pocket known to mankind!

I would have Chris teach my own kids (if I had any) and strongly recommend him as his passion and love for music really come across, and I'm sure he will have lots of knowledge to pass on as probably one of Glasgow's most in-demand players (•‿•)
