About Zaid
I am an unregistered barrister. I joined this profession and chose law as my undergraduate degree because I wanted to understand the interplay between a country's legal system and administrative institutions - and how it all relates to dealing with an individual.
I took a genuine interest in law, and that's why I have been successful in helping students secure good grades, instilling in them an appreciation and different mentality when viewing our legal framework.
Apart from the idea of standing in court and arguing my cases, the notion of teaching and discussing the law with my students is also something that made me a tutor. Explaining complex legal concepts, and discussing various contentious points of law with my students is something I have enjoyed and to make all this possible, I keep an open atmosphere wherein I encourage my students to critically think and engage with each other.
Having taught many students at different levels, I can confidently assure anyone interested in law and seeking private tuition that I have successfully taught all my students in such a manner that they ended up with better grades and I also taught students who had failed their modules on several occasions, only to end up passing after taking my classes.

My methods of teaching are primarily two; depending on the situation of my students. I explain legal concepts at length and avoid leaving all the work to the student as is normally the case. This method has always worked for my students that had time to prepare for their exams in the end. I rely on general resources available to students and make good use of online material that become available with recent developments.
My second approach is for the time right before exams begin. At such a point, I go into depth relating to the subject matter and cover all necessary key aspect areas in order for the student to quickly understand the topic and then return to their revision.
The best thing I have found to do is understand my students' strengths and weaknesses and from there, tailor my method of teaching for them.
My lessons generally last an hour, in some cases, it can be two.
I have always been a tutor since my A levels, I would teach my own class fellows as well as those junior to me in school - usually science subjects.
After joining the University of London, I only taught law. I have taught criminal, public, contract, legal system, advocacy, jurisprudence, land, equity and trusts, private international law, international protection of human rights, EU and tort laws.
Currently, I have completed my Bar Course and work in a financial litigation team dealing with consumer credit cases. I am confident with my 5 years of experience, I am well equipped to patiently and smartly tackle problem areas for students.
The other main aspect of my teaching is to focus on the practical element of the law and understanding it, making sure students can relate information to real-world practice.
My lessons are for A level, LLB, and BPTC/BPC/BTC/BVC students.
