About Claire
I have been a dancer for my whole life.
I started with ballet when I was 6 years old. From there, I began the competition circuit in ballet, jazz, musical theatre, tap and hip hop.
In my teen years, I gravitated more to the contemporary, hip hop and heels styles, joining my first adult dance company at only 17 years old.
During college, I began teaching youth ballet, hip hop and contemporary for several studios in Sacramento and the bay area.
For the past 5 years I have been teaching, training, and competing in the partner dance styles: such as country, latin, ballroom, argentine tango, salsa, bachata, and west coast swing. I managed a million-dollar dance school as well.
Now, I teach private lessons, couples lessons, and group classes at The Ballroom of Sacramento.

My approach is fun, simple, and fast. I believe that technique is built alongside footwork and framework and that anyone can be a dancer, no matter what age, level, or ability.
I typically start with a new concept or skill, then practice it with the student to different tempos and styles of music until the new thing no longer feels awkward or uncomfortable.
If you are not sure what styles of dance you like, but want to learn to move with music, I can assist in directing you to the right dance style that will fit your needs and tailor the program exactly for you.
