About Clare

I am certified in ballet pedagogy by the Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow and specialize in preparing beginners for ballet while helping ballet students overcome technical obstacles in their training.

I developed the BalletPrep Method after eight years of study under a Vaganova pedagogue specializing in students with non-traditional physical profiles, combined with my teacher training at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy. BalletPrep prepares the body for ballet by developing the physical qualities required for efficient technique before increasingly complex movements are introduced.

I am also a licensed clinical hypnotherapist, which allows me to incorporate mind-body awareness, motor learning principles, and strategies for overcoming psychological barriers that can affect technical progress and performance.

About the lesson

Ballet is one of the most biomechanically demanding movement disciplines in the world. Yet most students are expected to begin with pliés, tendus, and increasingly complex exercises before their bodies have developed the strength, mobility, coordination, and movement patterns those exercises require.

My lessons bridge that gap. Every first lesson begins with a comprehensive assessment of posture, alignment, turnout, foot function, mobility, flexibility, strength, and movement habits. From there, I create an individualized plan that addresses the underlying causes of technical problems rather than simply correcting their visible symptoms.

These sessions are designed both as preparation before regular ballet training and as a complement to ongoing ballet classes, giving students practical exercises they can continue independently.
