About Cali
Sometimes I admit that my hands still ache from years of repetitive scales and arpeggios. My 7 years of experience have brought me into contact with 124 students across various skill levels. Adults and returning learners often seek my help for sight reading or basic posture and hand position. Kids enjoy the challenge of learning rhythm and timing through structured exercises.
I focus on sight playing to build confidence. My training as a pianist who sings means I teach students to phrase like vocalists. Ear training helps bridge the gap between hearing a melody and playing it.
I maintain a steady pace for all my pupils. Jazz improvisation remains a core part of my instructional philosophy. It is never too late to start.

I confess that I spend a lot of time mapping out individual goals before a student even sits at the bench. My approach relies on 7 years of experience to identify where posture or hand position needs adjustment. Whether working with adults or children, I ensure that scales and arpeggios serve a greater musical purpose.
Sight reading does not have to be a chore when we break it into manageable patterns. I incorporate my vocal training to teach pianists how to breathe and phrase musically. Seeing students finally connect their ears to their fingers is the most rewarding part of this process. Playing music should be fundamentally enjoyable for everyone involved.
