About Karen

Karen studied music at the University of Bristol, graduating with honours in 2017. Karen has sung with many ensembles over the years including the University of Bristol Chamber Choir, Pitch Fight, for whom she was a founding member, and Fascinating Rhythm Chorus, where she was appointed to the Music Team for almost 2 years. Karen is one of the four founding members of Avalon Quartet - during her tenure, Avalon became the National Champions at the annual Ladies’ Association of British Barbershop Singers convention in Harrogate in October 2018, then went on to become European Champions at the European Barbershop Convention in Helsingborg, Sweden in 2022.

Karen opened her virtual studio full-time during the pandemic in May 2020. She continues to work exclusively online from her home in the Scottish Highlands where she lives with her husband, Jamie, and dog, Obi.

Karen's focus is on making lessons collaborative and fun - lessons include silly games, tailored exercises, and repertoire of your choice.

About the lesson

All my lessons are online which is great for those who have limited time or don’t fancy travelling to and from a studio location. A typical lesson with me is 60 minutes, beginning with a gentle warm up & some exercises, followed by your pieces/repertoire. I work with all abilities, ages 8+.
