About Dewey
As an award-winning songwriter, producer, arranger, and guitarist based in New York City, I bring a wealth of experience and a strong professional background to every lesson. I hold a master’s degree in Composition and Songwriting from NYU, and have taught music to students of all ages and backgrounds. My approach is supportive, organized, and tailored to each student’s needs. I am committed to helping you reach your musical goals with patience, expertise, and enthusiasm. I have decent online lessons set up and a good quality audio interface(Babyface pro fs).
Whether we’re working on guitar, production or songwriting, I love to teach in a clinical way by answering questions and then diving into songs or creative projects the student is excited about. I'll guide you through a good ear training experience: It's all about hearing the music in order to play better.
What sets me apart is my broad musical background—combining classical jazz, R&B, and pop influences with hands-on experience as a performer, songwriter, and producer-arranger.
I’m analytical and detail-oriented, yet approachable and encouraging, making me well-equipped to guide students from beginner to advanced level. My lessons are ideal for children and adults at any level who want a personalized, supportive, and inspiring learning environment that nurtures creativity as much as skill.
