About Shamsa
I am an award-winning UK educator and founder of STS Academy, with over six years of experience supporting students through competitive school entrance examinations and helping them secure places at some of London’s leading grammar and independent schools.
My academic background in healthcare and STEM, combined with extensive teaching experience, has given me a strong foundation in education, analytical thinking and academic development.
Throughout my career, I have worked with students from a wide range of educational backgrounds, including high-achieving pupils preparing for selective school admissions and students requiring additional academic support. I have developed a particular expertise in English, Mathematics, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning, alongside preparation for the 11+, 13+ and ISEB examinations.
As the founder of STS Academy, I take a highly personalized and results-driven approach to education. I believe successful entrance examination preparation requires more than completing practice papers. It involves developing strong academic foundations, expanding vocabulary, strengthening reasoning skills and building the confidence to perform under examination conditions.
I understand the importance of providing families with clear guidance throughout the admissions process, particularly those navigating the British independent school system from overseas.
My aim is to provide families in Dubai with access to the same high standards of academic preparation and specialist guidance offered to students applying to the UK’s most competitive schools.
Above all, I am passionate about helping young people recognize their potential, develop a genuine enthusiasm for learning and achieve results that open doors to future opportunities.

My lessons are designed for students attending Dubai’s leading British and international schools who are preparing for competitive entrance examinations, including the 11+, 13+, ISEB Common Pre-Test and Common Entrance examinations.
With over six years of experience preparing students for selective school admissions, I provide structured, results-driven lessons tailored to each student’s academic ability, target schools and examination requirements.
My specialist areas include:
* English comprehension, creative writing and vocabulary development
* Mathematics, including advanced problem-solving and numerical reasoning
* Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning
* ISEB Common Pre-Test and 13+ Common Entrance preparation
* Examination techniques, time management and interview preparation
Every student begins with an initial academic assessment, allowing me to identify knowledge gaps, establish realistic targets and develop a personalised preparation programme.
Lessons combine targeted teaching, examination-style questions, timed practice and regular assessments to measure progress. Parents receive ongoing feedback, clear academic targets and recommendations to support learning between sessions.
Having successfully prepared students for admission to some of London’s most competitive grammar and independent schools, I understand the academic standards expected of applicants.
My approach goes beyond examination preparation. I focus on developing confident, independent learners who can think critically, solve unfamiliar problems and perform under pressure.
