About Jonah
I have been playing the writing music and playing the guitar since the age of 10 and have a BA first-class Honours degree in Popular Music from Edinburgh Napier University. I have taught guitar privately for three years, taught music technology at Edinburgh Napier University for one year, and spent a year as a classroom assistant in the Stromness Academy music department. I have helped a wide range of students, from complete beginners to intermediate composers and musicians looking to hone their craft.

Whether a complete beginner or intermediate composer looking to breathe new life into your compositions I can help you to develop your own individual sound and musical voice. I aim to make sessions a fun, safe and creative space for you to work on building your confidence, practice, and chops as a composer/songwriter/beatmaker. Lessons are based on the individual and how they would like to grow their songwriting/composing. I can help guide you in arrangement, improvisation, and practice methods to help you create the best music you can. Sessions may also cover the application of rhythmic, melodic and harmonic theory which will help to smooth your creative processes and elevate your music.
