About Tom
I am a multi-award winning composer and Ivor Novello Composer Award nominee (2020). I have been a music teacher since 2004 and have taught at Primary, Secondary, Further and Higher Education levels.
I have a degree and masters degree in music composition and have a post-graduate certificate in post-compulsory education and training from the University of Warwick

I am passionate about using helping musicians, composers and songwriters find their own individual voice as creative writers of music. I work in a way that facilitates and encourages creativity as well finding ways to apply the most appropriate and useful music theory into creative work. I use notation software (Sibelius) , sequencing software (Logic Pro) and other music-specific tools to create a bespoke and personalised programme of development for my students, starting with their goals in mind.
