About Laurel
I’m a multi-award winning choral composer, whose music has been performed by high school All-state, college, and professional choirs. I’m also a former high school and middle school teacher (choir, music appreication, and AP Music Theory) with an MM in music education. I understand the subtle distinction between musical talent and the intellectual comprehension of music theory, as well as how music theory both aids and differs from the creative act of composition. I have taught students at all levels and offer a warm, non-judgmental approach to grasping the theoretical aspects of music. I am a born teacher who is passionate about helping you reach your goals.
