About Hanna
Throughout my HSC years, being enrolled in English Advanced and English Extension 1, I worked hard to develop my skills. Over time, I learned how to develop analysis for texts that was more than just surface level: that dived into the deeper ideas of textual purpose and how it influences its construction. I also learned how to condense my essays, removing unnecessary bulk to be left with quality analysis supported by clear and relevant explanations and techniques. Finishing first in both my English Advanced and English Extension classes, I proved that my method of developing a fundamental understanding of authorial purpose and the meaning of textual construction was superior to gaining a deeper understanding of English as a subject and achieving your goal HSC results.

I know English exams can be difficult, especially if you are expected to write an academic essay on a text learnt in class, or even on unforeseen texts (in the English Extension 1 HSC exam, for example). With this in mind, I structure my lessons to both assist with English schoolwork year-round, as well as reduce the stress around exam time, by providing the following services:
-how to write an engaging story
-how to write quality discursive, persuasive and imaginary texts
-help developing a thesis
-proofreading and editing for grammar and fluency
-assistance with common essay-writing difficulties (e.g. cutting down on words, bulking your essay)
-help developing quality analysis of texts, including techniques and evidence
-assistance developing study / exam preparation timetable
Ultimately, I aim to leave my students with lasting lessons on how to develop and structure knowledge on English texts to become better at analysing texts and creating amazing essays.
