About Murtadha
I hold a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Rutgers University. Throughout my academic and professional journey, I have demonstrated a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring students. I have taught undergraduate and graduate courses in both Computer Science and Electrical & Computer Engineering departments at institutions serving diverse student populations, including Montclair State University and Rutgers University. In addition, I have taught internationally and delivered instruction in various formats—including in-person, hybrid, and fully online—further strengthening my adaptability and instructional breadth. These experiences have underscored the importance of cultivating inclusive and supportive learning environments that meet the needs of students from all backgrounds. My teaching philosophy centers on clarity, adaptability, and active student engagement. I strive to demystify complex concepts by breaking them into manageable parts, encouraging participation, and fostering an iterative learning process. I am particularly passionate about teaching core courses in computer science and engineering, including Computer Networks, Computer Systems, Programming Methodology, the Internet of Things (IoT), and Sensor-Based Systems and Applications.

My teaching experience has been integral to my growth as a researcher and engineer in the industry. It
has shaped how I assimilate new information, apply it to complex problems, and communicate results
to the broader academic community. Throughout my graduate school journey, I have had the privilege
of teaching and serving as a teaching assistant for various undergraduate and graduate-level courses
in in-person, hybrid, and online formats. In addition, I have
had the rewarding experience of mentoring 12 students, each with unique backgrounds and levels of
preparation.
Teaching continues to be a learning process for me—one that I genuinely enjoy and embrace. Each
course, student interaction, and feedback cycle deepens my understanding, challenges me to refine my
approach, and strengthens my passion for education.
