About Enrique
Hi! I’m an ASL interpreting student with experience studying and practicing American Sign Language in a college setting. As someone who is continuing to develop my own skills in ASL, I understand the challenges that can come with learning a new language and communicating visually.
My goal is to provide a supportive and comfortable environment where students can practice ASL, ask questions, and build confidence without being afraid of making mistakes. I focus on practical communication, vocabulary, grammar, fingerspelling, receptive skills, and conversational practice.
Whether you are taking your first ASL class or looking for additional practice to strengthen your skills, I will work with you at your pace and adapt lessons to your individual needs. I want each student to leave a lesson feeling more confident and prepared to use ASL in and outside of the classroom.

As a multilingual (ASL, Spanish, English) interpreting student, my goal as a tutor is to create a comfortable and encouraging environment where students can practice ASL without feeling afraid of making mistakes. I believe the best way to learn ASL is through active practice, conversation, and visual learning rather than simply memorizing vocabulary.
As an interpreting student, I understand what it is like to learn ASL in a classroom and work toward becoming a confident signer. I can relate to students who may feel nervous about signing with others or who need additional practice outside of class. I aim to make tutoring feel less like another class and more like a supportive space to practice, ask questions, and build confidence.
My tutoring is primarily intended for beginning and intermediate ASL students, including students taking ASL courses at the college or high school level. I can help with ASL vocabulary, grammar, fingerspelling, receptive skills, conversational practice, assignments, and general preparation for ASL classes. Lessons can be adjusted to the student's individual needs and current level of experience.
