About John Angel
I am a London-based curator, art consultant, and educator with a passion for exploring the intersections between contemporary art, new media, and transdisciplinary thinking. With a strong background in curatorial practice, exhibition management, and academic research, my work focuses on developing innovative projects that challenge traditional boundaries in the art world. Currently, I am a PhD candidate at Goldsmiths, University of London, where I explore new models of curating and art management in the digital age. I am also completing a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (PCGHE) at Goldsmiths to enhance my pedagogical approach. As a university lecturer and mentor, I have experience teaching and coaching first-year students, leading workshops, experimental labs, and public programmes that engage with contemporary art discourse. I have collaborated with renowned institutions such as Guest Projects, MOCA, and SLUICE, curating exhibitions and developing educational initiatives that bridge theory and practice. I thrive on fostering creative dialogue, supporting emerging artists, and guiding students and professionals through the complexities of the art world. Whether through curatorial projects, workshops, or one-on-one coaching, my approach is always dynamic, student-centred, and focused on critical engagement with contemporary art and new media.
