About Canaan
I have been substitute teaching for 5+ years and student teaching for 2 months. I worked with Jumpstart, Americorps, an early childhood literacy preparation program while attending UMKC for 9 months and have raised two children, providing them with tutoring as well. I have also provided 6 homeschool students with English, Art and History tutoring.

I am a secondary English student-teacher in the Kansas City area. I currently hold a bachelors in English Literature from UMKC and am finishing my Masters of Arts in Secondary Education. I am looking to help any student become a better critical thinker and writer preparing them for the rigors of academic writing.
I use a combination of traditional, project-based and Montessori methods to help my students best absorb the information I am presenting. I want my students to leave me writing with a strong individual voice that can meet the expectations of college professors.
