About Elizabeth
I'm a PhD student in Ethnomusicology with a MM in Music Education. I have 8+ years experience teaching lessons, and have also taught in the k12 classroom setting. I'm a certified teacher, and feel comfortable playing/teaching music from classical to rock. I also perform with my synthpop band at gigs/ bars and have toured with a rock band!

I focus on technique, theory and musicianship in our lessons. We will build basic skills as well as those for musical expression, such as dynamics and articulation.
Lessons usually begin with a review, then focus on technique and scales/ theory, move into repertoire, and then move onto new concepts. The speed or pace of lessons is dependent on the age and prior skill level of the student. I have experience teaching students as young as 3, and have also had really successful long-term adult students as well.
