About Vernell
Adult beginners often feel the physical tension of the instrument as a rigid weight against their collarbone during initial practice sessions. My approach stems from my MMus Violin Performance from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and 13 years of performing and teaching. I focus heavily on double stops, scales and arpeggios, and shifting positions to build a solid foundation.
Developing ear training and classical repertoire knowledge ensures that students play with musicality rather than just notes. Refinement of vibrato and intonation remains a central pillar of my practice. I make certain that the progress students make is audible from the very first week.

Intonation issues rarely stem from hearing problems but rather from how the hand addresses the neck. Thinking about the violin as a singing voice simplifies the mechanics of playing.
I guide students through complex shifts and bowing patterns until the movement becomes natural. It is simple.
We address the physical habits that prevent clear sound production. These sessions maintain a 9.0 satisfaction rating because I emphasise practical results. Playing music is meant to be a joyful experience.
