About Alain

From my early teens, I was interested in classical music. It's an incredibly important part of my life. My private teachers included Jelena Bazova, principal piano and church organ teacher at the Tilburg Conservatory, city organists Jan van de Laar and Rob Rassaerts, and Canadian concert pianist Steven Massicotte. I don't consider myself a soloist, as I only attended the conservatory for a relatively short time before returning to the IT field to finance my concert grand piano at the time. About the lesson

I'd love to teach you how to play the piano. In my opinion, music is an indispensable part of life. Lessons will take place at my place, at your place, or online, and the teaching method will be adapted based on knowledge, technique, and age. I can teach you both technique and the fundamentals of music theory. Of course, it's much more fun if you can also just play your favorite pieces! I believe that developing technique is better practiced by learning and applying it in the musical context of the pieces you're working on, rather than using exercise books like Alfred's Piano Method.
