About Jessica
Hello! My name is Jessica Yu, and I’m here to support you on your musical journey. With five years of experience teaching and tutoring students of all ages, skill levels, and backgrounds, I’m excited to help you grow as a pianist while making the learning process enjoyable and rewarding.
I know firsthand what it’s like to be an aspiring young pianist, so there’s absolutely no reason to feel scared or intimidated. Instead, think of me as a compass; I’m here to guide you, encourage you, and help you find the right direction to flourish and succeed!

Practice makes perfect! Mistakes are normal and welcome, seen as stepping stones to learning.
A typical lesson plan will involve warming up first with scales/technical exercises. Then, we will review everything we learned last week. Next, I will have students play their pieces and correct any mistakes and give advice.
I have an ARCT diploma, completed all RCM theory/harmony/history courses, 5 years experience tutoring students, all of which have passed their exams with flying colors.
My sessions are typically for level 1-8, I can teach both repertoire and technical skills, students' age range is very flexible.
