About Brett
My interest in architecture stems from a fascination with how built environments influence human experience. I earned a B.Arch and an M.Arch in Urban Design, developing expertise in design principles, spatial organization, and sustainable architecture. Over 11 years of teaching, I have guided students to express creativity, think critically, and achieve clarity in their architectural projects.
I approach teaching with patience, encouragement, and structured guidance. Lessons are designed to help learners translate abstract ideas into coherent visual solutions, refine technical skill, and develop a confident design approach. Each session combines theoretical knowledge, practical exercises, and iterative feedback to maximize growth and creativity.
Outside teaching, I explore urban design projects, architectural research, and sustainability studies. Teaching architecture is fulfilling because I witness students develop artistic insight, problem-solving abilities, and a unique design identity. Supporting learners as they gain confidence, skill, and a personal architectural voice is the most rewarding aspect of my work.

Architecture lessons are most inspiring when learners can translate imagination into structured, functional, and aesthetically appealing designs. I cover foundational topics including design principles, spatial reasoning, composition, material understanding, and model making. Lessons emphasize concept development, problem-solving, and creative exploration through sketches, diagrams, 3D modeling, and practical examples from real-world architecture. Students are encouraged to experiment, iterate, and develop a personal design language that balances creativity with functionality.
For advanced learners, I introduce complex architectural projects, sustainable design principles, urban planning, and portfolio development. Sessions focus on refining conceptual clarity, technical accuracy, design narration, and presentation skills. Students receive step-by-step guidance, critical feedback, and iterative practice to strengthen both creativity and practical competence. I tailor lessons to academic preparation, professional growth, or competition readiness, fostering both imaginative and disciplined thinking.
Architecture instruction also cultivates spatial awareness, design sensitivity, and critical problem-solving skills. Many students develop confidence in articulating their ideas visually and conceptually, improving both technical skill and creative expression. My aim is to help learners build a strong, authentic architectural voice while nurturing practical design skills for long-term success in creative industries.
