About Addie
My journey in architecture began with a fascination for spaces and the way design shapes human experience. I completed a B.Arch in Urban Design, equipping me with both technical expertise and an appreciation for creativity in built environments. Over 10 years of teaching, I have helped students of all levels transform abstract ideas into compelling, functional designs while fostering analytical and creative skills.
I believe teaching architecture requires patience, clarity, and adaptability. I tailor lessons to each student’s needs, guiding them through concept development, technical execution, and portfolio presentation. My approach emphasises both structured learning and creative exploration, encouraging learners to reflect, iterate, and express themselves confidently. Lessons integrate sketches, models, and discussions to make concepts accessible and memorable.
Outside teaching, I remain engaged in architectural research, urban studies, and sustainable design projects. These experiences enrich my lessons, enabling me to offer students current, practical insights and real-world examples. Teaching architecture is deeply rewarding because I witness learners develop confidence, creativity, and technical expertise, preparing them to make meaningful contributions to the field.

Architecture lessons with me are designed to guide students in discovering the intersection of creativity, functionality, and technical skill. I focus on building a strong foundation in design principles, spatial reasoning, visual communication, and materials understanding. Each session integrates conceptual discussions, sketching exercises, and model-building activities to help learners translate ideas into tangible forms. Students are encouraged to experiment, visualise, and think critically about how spaces influence human experiences, fostering both artistic and analytical thinking. I tailor lesson content to each learner’s level, ensuring foundational clarity while promoting innovative approaches.
For intermediate and advanced learners, lessons cover complex projects, including site analysis, urban planning principles, sustainable design strategies, and architectural presentations. I emphasise portfolio development, critique techniques, and professional workflows. Each project includes iterative feedback, allowing learners to refine their ideas and technical skills while exploring personal style and design philosophy. Assignments are structured to balance creative freedom with disciplined problem-solving, ensuring students develop both confidence and competence.
Architecture education with me also strengthens critical thinking, collaboration, and aesthetic judgement. Students learn to articulate their ideas visually, evaluate solutions rigorously, and approach challenges with structured creativity. My goal is to empower learners to become thoughtful designers capable of producing functional, innovative, and aesthetically compelling work.
