About Poonam

My interest in architecture began with a curiosity about how spaces are designed and how they influence people’s daily experiences. This passion led me to pursue a Master’s in Architecture, where I gained a deeper understanding of design principles and spatial planning. Over the past 6 years, I have guided students in developing their design skills in a simple and supportive way. My experience has helped me work with different learners and support their growth effectively.

I believe that learning architecture should be both creative and structured. My teaching approach focuses on helping students understand concepts step by step while encouraging them to explore their own ideas. I use sketches, examples, and discussions to make lessons engaging and meaningful. I also provide continuous feedback to help students improve and gain confidence in their work.

Outside teaching, I stay connected to architecture through sketching, studying design trends, and exploring new ideas in the field. This helps me bring fresh insights into my lessons and keep them relevant. Teaching architecture is fulfilling because I get to see students grow creatively and develop confidence in their abilities. Helping them express their ideas clearly and build strong design skills is something I truly value.

About the lesson

Architecture becomes meaningful when students understand how ideas can be shaped into functional and creative spaces. In my lessons, I focus on teaching design basics, spatial understanding, and visual communication in a simple and structured way. I guide students through sketching, observation, and concept building so they can express their ideas clearly. I use examples from real-world designs to help students connect theory with practice. Each session is designed to be calm and supportive, encouraging students to explore their creativity without fear.

As students progress, lessons become more detailed and focused on practical skills. Beginners start with basic drawings, shapes, and simple design concepts. Intermediate learners work on perspective, layout planning, and material understanding. Advanced learners focus on project development, presentation skills, and portfolio preparation. I provide regular feedback and guidance to help students improve steadily. Practice tasks are included in every lesson to strengthen both creative and technical skills.

Architecture also helps students develop imagination, observation, and structured thinking. As they improve, they begin to notice design elements in everyday life and think more creatively. They learn to balance creativity with practical understanding and express their ideas more clearly. My goal is to help students build confidence in their creativity and develop skills that support long-term growth in design.
