About Doug
I'm a Part II Architectural Assistant at a major London architecture firm, with over 2 years practical experience. I also currently work remotely as a Research Assistant for the University of Melbourne, where I'm co-authoring a book on architecture, ethics and AI.
I've worked as a technical tutor at the University of Melbourne in the subject Digital Design and Fabrication, helping students to understand the relationships between tectonics, parametrics, and conceptual design. I have strong skills in design, as well as good technical skills with Revit, Rhino, Grasshopper and Photoshop.
I completed my Masters of Architecture at the University of Melbourne at the end of 2018 with a First Class Honours.

My aim is to help you develop your own critical thinking and your own design expression. I believe that by doing this, you will find a balance between satisfying the demanding requirements of a studio project, while also satisfying your own creative interests as an architect.
I adapt my teaching to your need and interests: it really is all about what you want to learn. I hope to do this collaboratively; by asking a lot of questions to help you work through your own ideas, and by acting as sounding board for design projects, while also providing a useful toolkit for design skills, technical skills, and studio soft-skills.
