About Ivy

My passion for architecture began at a young age when I became fascinated by how spaces influence people’s emotions, movement, and sense of comfort. This early interest led me to pursue a B.Arch in Environmental Architecture, where I explored sustainable design, material behaviour, and spatial storytelling. Over the past 10 years, I’ve taught students from many backgrounds, helping them transform uncertain ideas into designs with clarity, character, and thoughtful structure. I approach teaching with patience, careful explanation, and a strong belief that creativity grows through encouragement, not pressure. I enjoy breaking down complex concepts into approachable steps so students never feel overwhelmed. Whether we explore conceptual sketches, spatial diagrams, environmental considerations, or visual communication, I help learners develop at a pace that feels comfortable and motivating. I enjoy supporting students who feel shy or unsure, guiding them until they recognise their own creative potential. Outside the classroom, I stay connected to architecture through personal concept sketching, urban-design reading, and study of sustainable practices. These ongoing interests enrich my teaching and help me provide relevant insight into modern architectural thinking. Teaching architecture is truly meaningful to me because I witness students grow—not only in technical skill but also in imagination, confidence, and personal expression.

Architecture becomes more meaningful for students when they learn how everyday spaces are shaped by intention, structure, and human interaction. In my lessons, I guide learners through the foundations of spatial thinking, conceptual sketching, material understanding, and early design interpretation. I help them understand how architects transform simple observations into carefully planned environments. Each session encourages slow exploration, thoughtful discussion, and visual experimentation so students feel engaged, supported, and inspired to express ideas with growing confidence. I adapt every lesson to the learner’s level and personal goals. Beginners are introduced to basic forms, composition, simple diagrams, and visual clarity. Intermediate students practise more structured sketches, spatial layering, circulation planning, and basic model approaches. Advanced learners refine conceptual narratives, design logic, portfolio organisation, and detailed presentation structure. Throughout every lesson, I emphasise steady skill growth, expressive clarity, and the ability to communicate ideas visually and verbally. Architecture lessons also help students grow in ways that extend far beyond drafting and design. They learn patience, creative observation, problem-solving, and thoughtful decision-making—skills that strengthen both academic abilities and personal confidence. Many students discover new forms of expression as they build their design voice through practice and exploration. My goal is always to help learners feel supported while developing the independence and curiosity essential to long-term creative development.
