About Xiomara
"Sharing architectural knowledge ensures that practical building logic reaches the next generation of designers. 6 years of tutoring allow me to translate the technical rigour of my 12 years at a London practice into manageable lessons. Students from university applicants to mid-career professionals working on BIM often struggle with core spatial concepts.
I focus on FLOOR PLANNING and SUSTAINABLE DESIGN to ground their theoretical work in reality. Hand sketching and 3D modelling serve as our primary tools for testing ideas before they reach paper. Dealing with hobbyists alongside students keeps my perspective fresh and grounded in foundational principles.
Architecture remains a complex field that demands clarity of intent during every phase of production. Lately I have found joy in tending to my own small garden when not at my desk."

"Progress moves faster when students reject the urge to finalise floor plans before they understand basic spatial flow. My method prioritises a diagnostic portfolio assessment during our initial meeting to identify specific gaps in your technical or creative process.
Holding an AA graduate degree provides me with the structural perspective needed to critique model making and building materials from an industry standpoint. Feedback sessions are intentionally slow to ensure that we address the underlying logic of your 3D modelling choices rather than just the aesthetic finish. We build these sessions around the reality that good architecture requires a slow and methodical approach to problem solving. Expect our time together to focus on developing a clear architectural voice through consistent, iterative critique."
