About Suhela Verma
The process of evolving as an artist, always make me reflect on my roots. I have cherished memories of a creative grandfather (a writer), grandmother (an avid gardener), mom n dad artists in their own capacity. I remember playing around with colors in mom's art class and wanting to be a part of any artwork process that my mother was indulged in. Using different mediums and colors always fascinated me and I wanted to do it all. Colors affect us consciously and subconsciously, that's what I discovered on my journey. Why do we like a particular color? Is it because it makes us happy? Or is it because it brings a reminiscence from the past? I was drawn towards creative ideas & vibrant colors early in life. Even today, I resort to painting as a way of, healing, stress release, balancing meditation. With a strong creative root to stand up on, I’m on a journey to explore my depth of understanding and interpreting art.
From being a wonderer (watching others) to a wanderer (seeking knowledge) to a creative expressionist this journey has been a great one. Small art canvases to wall art, furniture, restoration & upcycling broken, torn pieces of interest --- they have given me immense opportunity to grow as an artist.
