About Judi
I am a native speaker of English and Arabic with a PhD in Linguistics from SOAS - University of London, a TEFL certificate, and over eight years of experience as a language and culture trainer and linguistic consultant at the UK Ministry of Defence, SOAS, the Saudi Ministry of Education, and various NGOs.
At the Ministry of Defence, I taught all levels of Arabic language (MSA and dialects) and culture to British military linguists, diplomats, officers, delegates, attaches, and logisticians who were set to undertake defence-engagement-related activities in the Middle East.
Whilst at SOAS, I taught Arabic dialects (Iraqi/Gulf, Levantine, and Egyptian) to undergraduate and postgraduate students, and I was an Assistant Professor at the Saudi Ministry of Education where I taught an array of modules in Arabic, English, Linguistics, Literature, and Translation. I also taught courses in Academic English, Business English, Medical English, and IELTS/TOEFL.

Dr. Judi taught me Modern Standard Arabic and Iraqi Arabic. I was studying for a BA in Arabic at SOAS at the time, and her lessons really helped me improve and excel in my degree. She made learning fun and enjoyable. She is exceptionally knowledgeable about Arabic and made me feel comfortable and confident speaking and using Arabic. She nurtured my love for the Arabic language and made me decide to continue studying it. In fact, I'm currently doing an MA in Arabic.
Dr Judi taught me IELTS and Academic English for about two years. She was effective at conveying difficult concepts in English and always ready to answer all of my questions, which made me feel comfortable in her class.
