  • 1) When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?

When I look back at my childhood, it feels so obvious that animation was always meant to be my path. I was that kid who couldn’t sit still - always creating, acting things out, making up stories, turning the simplest moments into full productions in my head. My imagination was loud, colorful, and constantly in motion… honestly, not much has changed.

When it came time to choose a program in university, I remember feeling really torn. I loved art and being creative, but I also loved computers and the logic of programming. I didn’t want to give up either side of myself. Finding 3D animation felt like everything clicked into place. It was the perfect blend of both worlds; I could be expressive, over-the-top, and artistic, while also diving into the technical power of complex software.
  • 2) What makes you passionate about your subject?

To me, animation is one of the most meaningful stages in any production. Whether it’s for television, film, or games, it’s the moment where an idea truly comes to life - where drawings, concepts, and storyboards transform into characters that breathe, feel, and connect with people.

I love taking a simple idea (or sometimes a very complex one!) and, through a handful of carefully crafted keyframes, shape an entire story. It’s where my creative mind gets to run wild, and I get to pour myself into every pose, every expression, every movement.

But one of my absolute favorite parts? Seeing how much people love the final result. There’s nothing quite like watching a kid in a toy store choose a character from a movie I helped animate, or seeing a show I worked on hit number one on Netflix because audiences can’t get enough of it. Those moments mean everything.

At the end of the day, I don’t animate for myself - I animate for the viewers. For the people who laugh, feel inspired, or find comfort in the worlds we create. That’s what keeps me doing what I love.
  • 3) What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?

Mentoring has become one of the most rewarding parts of my career. As I grow with each production, I often think back to day one -how little I knew, and how much I wish someone had told me earlier.

Animation is a tough field to break into, and sometimes even tougher to stay in. I had amazing professors, but I never had a true mentor - someone actively in the industry who could teach me what I needed to know today, not what worked a decade ago. Technology moves fast, techniques evolve, and expectations shift. That’s exactly what I want to help my students navigate.

I want to share the tips and insights that took me years to learn, help them stand out among hundreds of applicants, and encourage them to keep going even when it gets tough. I don't just want to be a mentor, but be a friend you can turn to with any question without judgement. Having someone in your corner who truly gets, who's been through it, who really wants to see you succeed... It can make all the difference.
  • 4) Do you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you? Please explain.

Really, everyone I meet is a role model to me. Whether you're a junior fresh out of school or a seasoned veteran - I can learn just as much from each side of the spectrum.
  • 5) What are your keys to success?

My keys to success in animation are:
    -Creativity
    -Patience
    -Passion
-and of course, learning the animation software.
