About Jonny

I have worked in several different jobs in the music industry, not only as a teacher but as a musician myself in several different bands and on multiple instruments, as a stage technician for bands touring the UK and Europe, as a live events organiser, and most recently as a music producer. Throughout all of these jobs, I have had one aim which, although it has risen and fallen through the ranks of priority, has always remained; to share music with as many people as I can. This has been fulfilled by making my own music and music with bands, but also by enabling others to create music to the best of their abilities.

About the lesson

In my lessons you will learn the essentials of creating a great tone on the saxophone and the key skills for improvisation, a technique used not only to produce amazing solos and embellishments, but also in songwriting and jamming. I used to work in primary schools, teaching groups of children to work together on different instruments to create their own rock/pop bands. At the end of each academic term the children would perform their songs to their schoolmates, teachers and parents. This being said, I am very happy to teach all ages as I also have experience teaching saxophone to adults. Lessons can range from anywhere between 20-60mins and I am happy to provide small tasks to complete between lessons for students to work on, but these are of course not compulsory!!
