About Hannah
I am an enthusiastic American tutor with higher education degrees from top UK schools. I have taught throughout my life - even before becoming an academic! I have taught everything from English language to how to write an essay to preparing you for applying to top universities!
I hold:
Bachelors in History from North Carolina, USA.
Masters in History from Southampton University, UK
MPhil in Modern History from University of St Andrews, UK
Besides academia, I have worked in the non profit sector as a go-getting project manager (mostly related to equalities and achieving sustainable development goals). I currently work part time with a branch of the United Nations. I available to give tutoring on these subjects as well (job prep, non profit, international relations, etc!).
Other than that, I enjoy writing, reading (a dream of mine is to be able to read hieroglyphics one day), playing music, writing my blog, and planning elaborate future dinner parties in moonlit gardens (a girl can dream).

My teaching methodology:
Firstly, I ensure that I understand the learning style of my students. Everyone learns differently and any good tutor should be able and willing to adapt to the student. Therefore, during our first lesson, I will get to know you and understand your needs and approach to learning.
Are you a visual learner (like myself)? I will include lots of pictures and examples. Are you a practical learner? I will include lots of exercises. Are you a nervous test taker? I will give lots of pep talks and tips! Do you prefer a hands off approach? I will nudge you in the right direction and be accessible for any questions.
The typical length of my lesson is one hour but I have been hired for many hours at a time for those stressful exam prep days!
My lessons are for all ages! I have experience with the youngest of learners (I have worked with children with extra learning needs) all the way to postgraduate level.
