About Jennifer

Jennifer is a passionate and inspiring saxophonist and teacher who began the piano at the age of 7 and later started playing the saxophone at the age of 12. Jennie completed her Bachelor of Music (Honors) at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, majoring in Saxophone Performance and has a minor on Piano. She is currently undertaking a Master of Education at the Australian Catholic University, further deepening her knowledge and skills in education.

She has achieved outstanding results in both national and international competitions, and had completed YAMAHA examinations to Level 5 (equivalent to AMEB Certificate of Performance and diploma) at the age of 14.

Jennifer is an experienced and versatile music educator who has taught students ranging from five years old to adults, across a wide range of abilities. She previously taught piano at Music World and worked as a piano teacher at St. Joseph's Primary School. In addition to piano, she also teaches woodwinds and music theory, supporting students in developing strong foundational musicianship alongside instrumental skills.

About the lesson

Jennifer is a motivated and dedicated music teacher with over 5 years of teaching experience, whose primary goal is to maximise each student’s potential and cater lessons that uniquely suit their abilities. Her students are from a wide range of ages and abilities, yet she is most passionate about sharing the joy of music with students and achieving their goals together with great support. She not only focuses on techniques but also the development of students’ expressiveness and thoughtfulness of the music they play. With her strong music theory and musicianship background, she also incorporates music theory in her lessons to build up students’ overall understanding of a piece of music.
