About Tessa
Across sixteen years of tutoring I have taught 860 students, ranging from young beginners to advanced learners preparing for professional coursework or serious personal projects. My own programming training spans both academic study and years of applied development work, and I spent several years working professionally before shifting my full focus toward teaching. I am a demanding but genuinely invested tutor, believing real mastery requires patient, deliberate practice rather than rushed repetition of favorite techniques. Many of my longest tutoring relationships have lasted several years, letting me guide a student's entire technical development from first lines of code through confident, independent projects. For students preparing for coursework assessments or career opportunities, I schedule frequent mock project reviews under realistic conditions, since technical skill alone rarely guarantees confident performance under evaluation. I maintain detailed long term progress records for every student, allowing precise tracking of technical development across many months of consistent lessons.
