About Ivy
I am a Piano tutor with more than 10 years of teaching experience and have successfully taught over 880 students. My passion is helping learners discover their musical potential while developing creativity, confidence, discipline, and artistic expression.
Throughout my teaching career, I have worked with beginners, advanced performers, examination candidates, competition participants, and students pursuing music for personal enjoyment. This experience allows me to adapt lessons effectively to different personalities, goals, and learning styles.
I believe music education should combine technical precision with artistic freedom. Students should learn how to perform accurately while also developing the ability to communicate emotion, meaning, and creativity through music. This philosophy creates confident and expressive musicians.

My Piano lessons are designed to help students develop technical mastery, musical understanding, artistic expression, and performance confidence through a structured and engaging learning approach. I teach Classical Piano, Contemporary Piano, Music Theory, Ear Training, Sight Reading, Improvisation, Rhythm Development, Musical Interpretation, and Performance Preparation.
Students begin by mastering the essential foundations of piano playing including posture, hand positioning, finger independence, note reading, rhythm accuracy, coordination, and listening skills. These core abilities provide the framework required for advanced musical growth and long-term success.
As students progress, lessons incorporate scales, arpeggios, technical studies, repertoire development, interpretation, phrasing, dynamics, improvisation, and advanced performance techniques. Students learn how to understand harmony, structure, and emotional expression while strengthening technical precision and artistic awareness.
Music theory is integrated directly into practical learning activities so students understand harmony, rhythm, musical form, and analysis while applying these concepts through performance. This balanced approach develops complete musicianship and independent learning abilities.
Personalized practice plans, performance coaching, detailed assessments, and continuous feedback help students achieve steady progress while building confidence and artistic excellence.
