About Connor
I have been teaching the flute for 20 years, guiding high school, college students, and adults, and have taught around 300 students so far. My teaching philosophy revolves around making lessons enjoyable, practical, and inspiring. I focus on proper technique, music theory, and performance skills, while encouraging students to explore their own musical style.
Many of my students have performed in recitals, competitions, and school events, achieving milestones that make learning rewarding. I aim to help students develop not only their flute skills but also confidence, creativity, and a lifelong love for music. Learning the flute with me is about progress, expression, and joy.

My teaching approach for flute is student-centered and practical, focusing on communication and adaptability. I believe that learning flute should be enjoyable and meaningful. I begin by understanding each student’s learning style and musical goals, then adjust my teaching accordingly.
I explain techniques like breath control, posture, fingering, articulation, and tone development clearly and simply. I encourage open communication so students can freely discuss their progress and difficulties.
I use real-life examples and musical case studies to help students understand how flute techniques work in real performances and compositions. This makes learning more engaging and practical.
In addition to flute lessons, I teach music theory, rhythm exercises, ear training, scale practice, sight reading, and basic improvisation. I also help students build confidence, discipline, and performance skills. My goal is to support students in becoming well-rounded and confident flute musicians.
