About Larissa

I am a professional ballet and contemporary dancer from Sydney, Australia. I began dancing at the age of 11 and fell in love immediately. Having to catch up to the other dancers in my class blessed me with the very special skill of knowing exactly how to teach older beginners and adults who feel that they are either "behind" or just never had a chance to dance when younger as they wanted! After training in my hometown, I was invited to study a BA of Fine Arts at the prestigious school of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, NYC. , I am now successfully dancing professionally here in London, UK, with credits including London's West End, Garsington Opera, Rambert Dance Company and Netflix.

About the lesson

If you've ever thought about wanting to do a ballet class but are afraid to step into the studio with strangers, or you've been to that first one and felt like the "beginners' level" was not beginners at all, I'm here to help you get over that first hurdle! Learning ballet can be like learning a new language. My aim is to literally break down everything from the beginning. I'll go through everything from ballet class etiquette to terminology, to teaching you how to work with your own body in the correct way so you can progress to your own personal best! You do not need ANY experience at all. Through private coaching, I have seen results of improved posture, body confidence, fitness and stamina. We can even set goals to achieve weekly. Lessons will be held either at Danceworks in the heart of Mayfair, or in the comfort of your own home. Feel free to contact me to have a chat!

I have always wanted to learn ballet but being a male, never had the guts to step into a class. At the age of 40 I finally decided that it was now or never. I went to an open ballet class in central London but found it impossible to follow. The teacher of that class recommended Larissa to me to guide me through the first steps through one on one coaching. She was very thorough in explaining everything, and gave me personalised corrections which helped my posture immensely. I now walk into my weekly ballet class more confident than ever.
