About Sharon
About Sharon Experience I have a BSc Hons in Environmental Health and Public Health, I am TESOL certified and I also have some experience as a voice/singing coach. I have taught English as a second language for over 5 years and I have found that it is nearly as rewarding for me (watching a student grow in confidence and knowledge) as it is for the student. My students have ranged from very young to those who are ready to retire and travel the world. Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate? Yes, I have a current and up-to-date DBS. I gained my BSc Hons in Environmental and Public Health in 2009 from Middlesex University London. I gained my TESOL qualification with the International Open Academy. Students My students come from all over the world and for many reasons, the younger children are there because their parents are striving to do their best for them. As a mother of 3 children myself, I recognise this and do my utmost to produce lessons that are educational, entertaining and of a high quality. The older students often wish to travel abroad for either educational or recreational purposes and therefore lessons are adjusted to suit the student's personal requirements Pricing Hourly rate is £35 Lessons booked and paid in advance for 5+ hours will be reduced by 10% 5h: £157 Lessons booked and paid for in advance for 10+ hours will be reduced by 20% 10h: £280 30 minute classes are available for younger children at £17.50. FREE Trial lesson 30mins Packages are booked and paid for privately, lessons booked per session are booked and paid for through Superprof. A pack of 5 hour sessions expires within 3 months of the purchasing date and a pack of 10 sessions expires within 6 months of the date of purchase.

My teaching style is both patient and earnest and I would be honoured to help you improve your accent and overall spoken English. My classes are tailored to each student's level of English; however, I do feel that younger children have a better learning experience when they are having fun. I therefore use lots of TPR (Total Physical Response), interesting props, praise, encouragement and rewards to inspire children during class. For the older students, I can help you prepare for exams, interviews and general conversational skills using more conventional methods, but I still use games, songs etc. to reinforce the language of the lesson.

Sharon has been teaching my Granddaughter Edith for while now. She came to us highly recommended by a close friends daughter.
Edith is 6 and was struggling with reading, she has been in the shadow of her older brother Alfie who read before he went to school and of course Edith was expected to be same!
Sharon’s patience and use of the beautiful dolls house to make phonics associated to every day tiny objects, had Edith engaged and gaining confidence in her reading before she knew it!
