About Naomi
My recent experience includes supporting undergraduate and postgraduate students within UK higher education. I delivered individual tutorials and small-group workshops for home and international students, helping them develop the academic skills needed to succeed at university.
I previously taught on a pre-sessional Academic English programme at the University of Liverpool, preparing international students for degree-level study in the UK. Before this, I spent eight years teaching English and university-preparation courses overseas.
Working with students from different linguistic, cultural and educational backgrounds has given me a strong understanding of the challenges students may face when adapting to UK higher education. I enjoy learning about different cultures and education systems, and I use this experience to provide welcoming, professional support that helps students understand university expectations and become confident, independent learners.

My lessons are practical, supportive and tailored to your academic goals. We can work on academic writing, essay and report structure, dissertation planning, critical reading, research, referencing, presentations and effective study strategies.
Rather than simply correcting your work, I use guided analysis, examples, planning activities and constructive feedback to help you understand how to improve and apply these skills independently. Lessons can be based on your assignment brief, marking criteria or course materials while maintaining academic integrity.
Lessons typically last 60 minutes and are suitable for undergraduate and postgraduate students, including international students adapting to the language and expectations of UK higher education.
I have more than 10 years’ teaching experience, including supporting university students in the UK. I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and hold an MA in TESOL and a CELTA qualification.
