About Melissa
Alongside my professional background, I have worked as a career mentor with Headspace, which has shaped how I approach learning and support. That experience reinforced the importance of feeling heard, respected, and not judged — regardless of age or stage of life. I am drawn to teaching because I value helping people find clarity and direction, whether they are completing senior school, studying at university, or returning to education after time away. I enjoy working with students who want thoughtful guidance, and with parents who are looking for someone reliable, patient, and genuinely invested in progress and well-being. My approach is grounded, encouraging, and practical. I believe learning works best when expectations are clear, communication is kind, and students feel supported to grow at their own pace.

I am a registered nurse with senior executive experience and recent psychology study, including receiving the Dean’s Role of Excellence for the Bachelor of Psychological Science at the University of Tasmania.
I support senior secondary and university students in nursing, health sciences, psychology, and academic writing. Many students I work with are capable and motivated but feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or unsure how to approach assessments. My role is to provide calm, practical support in a respectful and non-judgemental way.
Lessons focus on building understanding, confidence, and clarity — including academic writing, APA 7 referencing, and assessment planning — and are tailored to each student’s needs and pace.
Sessions are online and available during the day or on weekday evenings (negotiable). Lessons can be delivered via video call, or without video if students prefer, to support comfort and privacy. I do not offer Saturday or Sunday evening sessions.
